Berkshire Hathaway boosted its Apple stake last quarter

Berkshire Hathaway Inc. increased its stake in Apple Inc. during the fourth quarter, according to a Tuesday filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The Warren Buffett-led company disclosed in a Schedule 13G form Tuesday that it owned 915.6 million shares of Apple

as of Dec. 31 representing a 5.8% stake in the company. That’s up from 894.8 million shares as of the company’s 13-F filing on third-quarter holdings that was released in November.

Shares of Apple have risen by 10.6% since the end of the third quarter.

is expected to release its 13-F for the fourth quarter shortly. That will provide a fuller picture of the company’s holdings.

In other Schedule 13G forms, Berkshire disclosed increased stakes in Louisiana-Pacific Corp.

Berkshire’s stake in Louisiana-Pacific, a maker of construction materials, grew to 7.0 million shares from 5.8 million shares as of the third-quarter filing. Berkshire’s position in Occidental Petroleum rose to 278.2 million shares, up about 83.9 million shares from the third-quarter filing.

The company also had 52.7 million shares of Activision as of the end of the fourth quarter, compared with 60.1 million shares three months prior. Berkshire’s Ally position decreased to 29.8 million shares from 30.0 million shares.
