Only one woman can get the final golden rose from the 72-year-old “Golden Bachelor,” but 22 contestants are going to try.

revealed the women hoping for a chance with Gerry Turner, the Indiana grandfather named as the golden bachelor earlier this year. The franchise is trying a twist on its show, focusing on older people looking for a second chance at love. Instead of the famed red rose contestants normally receive, these women will be given a gold rose every week.

The contestants are in their 60s and 70s, with some who had been married before. In the preview featuring the women, many alluded to age as just a number.

“People have a mental picture of what a 73-year-old person is and what they look like, which is not me,” Christina, 73, said.

“We’re still fun,” Jeanie, 65, said. “We have a lot of zest for life.”

Many were married for decades, and have children and grandchildren. Some said they didn’t want to be alone anymore, and wanted to travel and enjoyed sports.

“I’m ready to find love now,” Sandra, 75 said. “Well hell, I’ve been ready to find love for a long time, people.”

The Golden Bachelor will premiere on Sept. 28 on ABC.
