Daimler Truck posts upbeat outlook as earnings and revenue improve

Daimler Truck Holding AG on Friday posted a positive outlook for the year ahead as earnings and revenue improved in the fourth quarter and full year.

reported adjusted earnings before interest and taxes of 1.03 billion euros ($1.09 billion) for the fourth quarter of 2022, up from EUR594 million the previous year. Revenue rose to EUR14.78 billion in the quarter from EUR11.35 billion the year prior, Daimler Truck said. Revenue and adjusted EBIT also rose in the full year, reaching EUR50.95 billion and EUR3.96 billion, respectively.

In the fourth quarter, the company delivered 155,072 units at group level, and it confirmed a previously given figure for 2022 of 520,291 units.

Daimler Truck proposed a dividend of EUR1.30 a share, its first as an independent company.

Looking ahead at 2023, Daimler Truck said it expects a significant increase in revenue, coming in a range between EUR53 billion and EUR55 billion in industrial business and between EUR55 billion and EUR57 billion at group level. It is also expecting a significant increase in adjusted EBIT, it said. At unit level, the company expects 2023 sales in a range between 510,000 and 530,000 units, it said.
