Lagardere SA said Tuesday that revenue rose in the first quarter on strong growth in its travel retail segment.

The French media company said revenue rose to 1.675 billion euros ($1.83 billion) in the quarter from EUR1.30 billion in the comparable quarter in 2021. On a like-for-like basis, the quarterly revenue grew by 24%.

Revenue in its travel-retail segment increased 44% to EUR1.05 billion from EUR694.0 million a year prior, boosted by growth in international air traffic and the end of the so-called zero-Covid policy in China.

Revenue in its publishing segment rose to EUR570.0 million from EUR554.0 million.

Lagardere plans to publish its first-half result on July 25.
