These senators have a plan for saving Social Security

Apparently, Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA) is working with Sen. Angus King (I-ME), whocaucuses with the Democrats, to craft a bipartisan solution to fix Social Security. Their plan involves creating a fund outside of Social Security that could be invested in equities and using the earnings on that fund to help pay promised benefits. The plan is still a work in progress, but raises some interesting issues.
