The Manhattan grand jury probing former President Donald Trump’s alleged role in a hush money payment to a porn star is scheduled to break for about a month, reports said Wednesday.

Politico said the break is largely due to a previously scheduled hiatus, citing a person familiar with the proceedings.

CNN reported that the grand jury is scheduled to break after April 5 and restart later in the month.

Trump has declared his innocence in the investigation, which involves actor Stormy Daniels. The former president has said Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg was investigating him for “something that is not a crime, not a misdemeanor, not an affair.”

And Trump has ratcheted up anticipation that an indictment could be near, by recently posting on his social media platform that he expected to be arrested imminently. His representatives later said that they had not received any such indication on timing from Manhattan prosecutors.

Trump — who is mounting another White House run — is also facing an investigation in Georgia over his efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election as well as federal investigations into his handling of classified documents and possible obstruction, as well as his efforts on Jan. 6.

The Associated Press contributed to this story.
