plane made an emergency landing in San Francisco on Monday night after a bomb threat was made.

United Airlines Flight 1909 took off from Los Angeles and was originally scheduled to land in Vancouver, Canada. But the bomb threat from a passenger forced the landing in the Bay Area around 9:30 p.m. The threat was deemed “not credible,” according to one report.

The plane was carrying 148 passengers and eight crew members, according to another report. Investigators spoke with passengers after the deviation.

In a statement to MarketWatch, a United spokesperson acknowledged that “United flight 1909 diverted to San Francisco last night due to a potential security issue on board. The flight landed safely, was met by local law enforcement and is now scheduled to depart this [Tuesday] morning at 7:00 a.m. local time.”

On the social-media platform X, one person said he was on the flight and was interviewed by the FBI. “This has been one crazy weekend bruh,” he said.

United is one of the country’s four largest airlines, according to the OAG site.
