SYDNEY–Australia posted another record goods and services trade surplus of 17.67 billion Australian dollars (US$12.28 billion) in June, supported by a further big jump in iron-ore exports.

The trade surplus rose A$2.654 billion from May, with the value of exports up 5.1% for the month to A$61.527 billion, the Australian Bureau of Statistics said Thursday.

The surge in exports was led by non-monetary gold and metals ores.

The value of imports rose 0.7% to A$43.857 billion as the number of Australians leaving the country in June outpaced the number of international travelers coming back in, the ABS said.
